About The University of Buckingham
The University of Buckingham was founded in the UK in 1972 by former Oxford University Professors, who were determined to maintain a focus on small classes and small scale, combined with innovative approaches to learning tools and technologies. The University of Buckingham is unique. It is the only independent university in the UK with a Royal Charter. Originally sponsored by Margaret Thatcher, it has developed a reputation for high levels of personal attention, limiting class sizes to a maximum of 20, for example, and a refusal to compromise quality standards.
